Lifeguard
If you're 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or a challenging
career, one that will help you develop skills and experience that will be
valued by colleges and future employers, American Red Cross Lifeguarding is
the best place to start. Through classroom learning and hands-on practice,
you'll learn:
- Surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries
- Rescue skills - in the water and on land
- First aid training and professional rescuer CPR - to help you prepare for any emergency
- Professional lifeguard responsibilities like interacting with the public and addressing uncooperative patrons
Adult, Infant and Child CPR with First Aid
This course trains individuals to become familiar with how to recognize and
care for victims of illness and sudden injuries, to overcome any reluctance
to act in emergency situations, and to recognize and care for life-threatening
respiratory of cardiac emergencies in infants and children. This class is
perfect for child-care workers, expectant parents and grandparents.
AED Training (Automated External Defibrillator)
This is a course that is added on to many of our Adult CPR classes. Individuals
are trained how to operate an AED in case of a sudden cardiac emergency to
enhance their lifesaving skills.
CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Teach professional rescuers (those with a duty to respond) the skills needed
to respond appropriately to respiratory and cardiac emergencies.
We are also offering Challenge classes for people with a current lifeguard certification that is about to expire. Class are available now please call or email for availability.
