MEET INFORMATION

This event is open to swimmers in grades 6 through 8 according to your school’s policy regarding interscholastic athletic participation. NFIA rules will apply.

The standard high school dual meet schedule will be followed, with the 1-meter diving held before the swimming events. Each swimmer may compete in a maximum of two individual events and four total events (diving and any exhibition events count as entries). Each team is permitted a maximum of four entries in each individual event and one entry in each relay event for points. Each team is allowed unlimited exhibition entries in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, all relays, and the diving, but only the top four individuals and one relay will receive points.

There are no time standards for this meet, but it is recommended that all teams try to include a seed time for each entry, as all events are timed finals. Swimmers with a “no time” will be placed in the first (slowest) heats.

Diving will consist of a forward dive group voluntary (performed first), plus five optional dives from at least four different groups (the standard high school six-dive format).

Scoring will be through 16 places. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 16 places. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 girls and boys teams, and top 2 combined teams.

Entry fees are $3 per individual event and $10 per relay event. This is necessary to cover the costs of awards, the automatic timing, and computer operation. PLEASE NOTE: A SURCHARGE OF $10 PER SWIMMER WILL BE ADDED FOR TEAMS NOT ENTERED IN HY-TEK TEAM MANAGER!

For instructions on entering your swimmers and divers, go to the Georgia High School Swim Coaches Association website at www.ghssca.com . A sample copy of Team Manager, which you can use for your entries, can be downloaded at the Hy-Tek website, www.hy-tekltd.com . E-mail the entry file to blisht@marist.com .

ALL ENTRIES ARE DUE - TUESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2005
DIVING SHEETS ARE DUE - TUESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2005
